Matfield Post Office Re-opens

Mafield Village Hall Committee are pleased to host the Matfield Outreach Post Office in the Foyer of the Hall from Wednesday 17 th January 2018.

The Post Office has issued the following press release:

The Post Office is restoring Post Office services to Matfield with a hosted outreach service operating from the Village Hall three times a week.

The Postmaster for Wateringbury, Patrick O'Flanagan, will provide the service every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am - 1pm at Matfield Village Hall, Maidstone Road, Matfield, TN12 7JR.

Previously Mr O'Flanagan operated a hosted outreach service from the InnStore behind the Inn Public House. This village shop and Post Office closed at the end of March 2017 and the premises were converted into an office.

Since then Post Office Ltd has been working hard to provide a Post Office to the rural community of Matfield. The same Post Office services will be available as when it operated at InnStore.

Post Office Network Operations Manager, Cheryl Sitch, said: “We understand how important Post Office services are to a local community. We are therefore delighted to be able to re-open Matfield Post Office. Thanks very much to the Matfield Village Hall committee for providing the premises and for Wateringbury Postmaster Patrick O'Flanagan offering to provide the outreach service at the Village Hall.”
