Matfield Village Fete

Matfield Village Fete
Saturday 15th July
12.30 - 4.30pm

This year's fete on Matfield Village Green will include all the usual attractions, including a variety of stalls offering craft and other products, a fun dog show, a band and plenty of refreshments - from tea and cakes to beer and a barbecue, and lots of ice cream. There will be a bouncy castle and chair-o-plane ride for younger children, cricket net lessons and a treasure hunt for older youngsters, and games and tombolas for all the family.

In 2017, we will also have a display of classic cars and an overflight by a Second World War Dakota aircraft. Dog agility sessions will run through the afternoon. Help will be on hand for this. No experience or booking required. New for this year, a pottery wheel where you can have a go at throwing a clay pot!

In addition, the village green will host the Horticultural Society's Summer Show which will present the best of local products, from flowers and vegetables to cooking and knitting. For those inspired by the show and wanting to add to their own gardens, the fete will have two plant stalls.

Last year was our most successful ever, with over 50 stalls and attractions and we hope that 2017 will be even better - there is plenty of space on the largest village green in Kent.

If you would like to have a stall at the fete, these cost just £25. We welcome the use of your own gazebos, tables and chairs as, unfortunately, we cannot provide these. Stalls can be set up from around 10.00am through to 12.00 noon and the fete runs from 12.30pm to about 4.30pm.

If you would like a stall, please download the booking form here. For more information, email Angela at fete@brenchleyandmatfield.co.uk .

The Fete Committee always welcomes help with setting up on the day, clearing away at the end or providing assistance with running some of the stalls. If you would like to help in any way, please contact a fete organiser or use the email address above.

And, most of all, put the date in your diary, come and enjoy the afternoon, meet your neighbours and have some country village fun. The fete needs all of you!
