Tunbridge Wells Civic Centre

As part of its draft Planning Framework, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has set out its wider vision for the town centre, taking the decision to look at the whole rather than bringing forward piecemeal development.

For the borough to thrive it needs to look to the future and provide the best possible leisure experience for visitors and residents alike.

To support the borough's local economy, the plans include the development of a 1,200 seat theatre, replacing the existing Assembly Hall Theatre, alongside much-needed new commercial office space and car parking.

The current Town Hall would be replaced with new Council offices, a civic suite and Council Chamber. The civic suite would host the Mayor as well as meetings with local
residents, business people, and dignitaries from other areas.

The proposed new development, situated at Mount Pleasant Avenue and adjacent to Calverley Grounds, would be part of the wider regeneration of the town and
borough.
