Brenchley & Matfield Beaver Scout Colony

The Beaver Scouts are the youngest members of the Scout Group for boys and girls 6 years to 8 years old, after which they move on to Cubs.

The aim of the Scout Association is ‘to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities’.

At Beavers we try to begin this process with caring and sharing, they learn about themselves, about getting to know others, they learn to care and to explore and investigat. This hopefully is achieved through play, craft, visits, chatting as a group, praying, listening to stories and meeting new people.

Safety and security are always a high priority so we have to ensure adequate adults are present, parents will be asked to attend once or twice a term on a parent rota. You may not always be up to your elbows in glue and glitter but you are a very important additional pair of eyes and ears. Parents are always welcome to stay for all or part of any of the meetings, we like the parents to feel involved and if your have a special skill to share that is always appreciated.

As with any organization we are always looking for new leaders so please consider whether you can help in this way.
